America & Europe

Two centuries later, Americans and Europeans have traded places - and perspectives. This is partly because in those 200 years, and especially in the recent decades, the power equation has shifted dramatically: When the United States was weak, it practiced the strategies of indirection, the strategies of weakness; now that the United States is powerful, it behaves as powerful nations do. When the European great powers were strong, they believed in strength and martial glory. Now they see the world through weaker powers. These very different points of view have naturally produced different strategic judgments, differing assessments of threats and of proper means of addressing them, idffering calculatioins of interest, and differing perspectives on the value and meaning of international law and institutions.
It makes sense why Europeans today feel threatened by the US' influence and power. They just want the power and we want to keep it. No wonder the Euro world disagrees with our actions. This must be the case since common sense says this war is long overdue and justified regardless of WMD's or not.

The difference between then and now is one word.

Do not be fooled. Liberal Democrats in our country (The USA) will always base their opinions on what Europe thinks is "okay" and "not okay", so please do keep this in mind when speaking with an American. You can spot a liberal by noticing their constant disagreement with the US regardless of what the circumstances may be. They are most likely to hold compassion for our "enemy" and will be the first to alter terminology from "Terrorist" to "Freedom Fighter". Easy marks those liberals are. Sad really.

Are Europeans or Iraqi civilians our enemies? You should take a lesson from history. Empires fall into the hands of their enemies. Always have, always will. Empire building is fruitless in the long run. Realizing that lasting peace has to be established for all people seems to escape the right-wing Christian in the USA. Since most of their beliefs are based on the end of the world occuring in their own lifetime. How can one talk peace when they pray to a god that promises destruction?

I wasn't angry at the Germans when they bombed Pearl Harbor. In fact, I think their automobile manufacturing skills are second to none.

option to 'elite and liberal media':
Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Michael Savage...it's just sad that Joseph Goebbels was killed in 1945. He could join that sh*tlist.

fuck no!
I don't like paying taxes period. especially when a shitload of my tax money goes into oppressing foreign peoples so that a bunch of wealthy motherfuckers can sit pretty over here.
the least I should get from all my hard earned stack is the ability to have many wives! I could love them all.
