Hi all,
Question about poster design rates.
I've been asked to give an estimate on the design of 10 posters.
I know it depends on industry/clinet size and how many colors the posters will be printed in as well as time and duration of use.
So I was thinking around $1000 per poster, seem low, high?
From what I've read in the GDG handbook it may be a bit low. The end client is Sony.
Thoughts comments?
Thanks.

are you in charge of following up with the printer (press checks etc) or are you just getting a sign off on design and handing the print files over to the client?
that makes a difference in charging.

DOH! I should have asked the friggin Poster Master sooner, BonSeff to the rescue!
No I believe it would just be me handing them of to the design company, and them dealing with all the printing aspects.

do you know the quantity of the run of each poster? I'ver never charged 10K for a design job so I wouldnt know how to price that.
nice job on getting the opportunity to bid on that job. Ive found the DGD handbook prices are somewhat inflated for the clients i deal with, but with a client like Sony, that sounds ok.like if you spent 20 hours on each poster @ $50 an hour, that breaks down to 1000 a piece. (that would prolly include revisions and client tweaks)
id say go for it!

1000 seems low, esp for sony.
i am doing a poster now for a client that includes photography and a bunch of text for the backside for 8k.
