This program boggles my mind. Any good tutorials that will go slow and just hold me tonight?

director is more the 1950s marrying type. you'll never get to second base untill you are married, but once you buy the ring, she'll do anything. :D
you might try www.director-online.com
but they had a crash recently and lost a bunch of articles.

Nameless -- I hear ya and I may be in over my head on this one.
I check out the site, but I'm looking for more of a "beginners guide". Something better than the Macromedia tutorial but not crazy complex issues. I have this same problem with Flash.

I always point people towards this:
http://brennan.young.net/Edu/Lin…
It totally sorted my head out as far as lingo is concerned.

don't worry guy, there are many levels of using director, so you are never over your head.
you can do really easy, nice bitmap animations... to simple interactive pieces, to the type of project i am working on now, which involves querying a v12 database.
it gets as complicated as you want or need.
things to start learning are...
simple scripts
learn the defferences in behavior, movie, and frame type scripts, and where to use them.realize that the movie is always playing and the equvilant to STOP is more like loop on this frame.
learn the timeline and keyframing
learn frame lables and how to write a behavior to go to a specific lable.
that should be enough to develope an interactive presentation.

A friend of mine gave me a book called Director 8 and Lingo Authorized (amazon.com). It's a good book and makes it realyl easy to learn this app.
