RE:
Just received an email from which Symantec automatically deleted when i tried to access my inbox this morning.
Apparently, its an email with an attachment (.pif) that, if clicked, roams your computer and searches for other email addresses to send itself to.
Don't know whether its capable of serious damage but nevertheless irritating!

Welcome to the club.
It's only dangerous on Windows, along with all those other 'computer viruses'.
Why don't the media call them 'Windows viruses'?

So there's no virus for the mac?
I already knew about this, I used to get that mail often. Never click on strange attachments.

it's called OS X isn't it?

why don't people send viurses to spammers?

There are viruses for the Mac...but it usually requires a Microsoft product to be installed for it to work.
Damn monopolies...

I have never ever seen a .PIF file used for anything but viruses. So I've automatically blocked all pif's in Norton. Ta-daa!

our web host got hacked, and there was a footer file on the server which put iframe code at the bottom of all html files (even if you upload a new copy) inside the iframe is a html page with js and then linked to a readme.pl file which gets downloaded automatically onto your temp internet files. i belive it was a t-horse (coreflood) anyway it was a huge mess and nearly went undetected until today i happened to notice the iframe code.
