I'm a snowboarder from the 90's, have been to Jackson Hole, but no Cali. Would love to though.

alex you should come. mammoth is amazing.
it might also be cool to consider tahoe. i havent been there since i was a kid. both places are the best snow in california.
mammoth was so awesome last season i bought a season pass for 2003/4

im going to jackson hole this winter if i get a contract or two.

thanks shellie, I would love to come out and board with you guys. I used to ride a Burton Brushie, Joyride Pipeboard and for a short time a Morrow, but it got stolen. The hills in PA are totally crappy (Appalachian Mt.'s around here are old and worn out), sometimes I go down up to Canada and upstate NY or even parts of Vermont. Nothing like the west with the Rockies though.

I got my value pass too. I am going to live up there on weekends this season.

bent, i just got my explorer. wanna carpool? you pay for gas.. i'll drive.
i plan on going up there almost every weekend. im going to get my $399 worth.

sounds like a blast...wish I could go, but if I did, I'd have to take the kids!
A couple of us NT'ers went down to Rosarito last year...that was fun!
- shellie0
bring the kids! mammoth has excellent kids programs. they keep em busy for 8 hours or so.
how old are they? i wanna put my oldest neice in bording classes this year.
- pocho0
12, 13 and 1. yeah, i'm an NT Elder. Respect your elders, damnit! Cool thing is they listen to all my old-skool punk! they'd love to board...we've been talking about it for a while now.

Right on, let's do it.
The more people in the cabin the less it costs. . . and the better the party!
Yea, $399, can't beat that. thanks to this last late season mine has almost paid for itself already. Damn, now you have me thinking about powder while it is 100 out.

no shit..
actually ive never been a fan of summer. in december im sure my work will shut down for a week. so ill probably be there in mammoth the wile time. theres some sick condos behind canyon lodge right near the parking lot that are super cheap. 2 nights... 3 people is 75 bucks. at its got a fireplace 2 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms.
its really hard to find the place online to make reservations so.. its usually never too crowded. if you make your reservations 2 weeks ahead its no problem. and later in the season they only need a weeks notice.
no driving you just walk right to the lift.. traverse across to stump alley and make it over to the gondola. then its all smooth sailing from there down the back side.
sick ;)

word i'll take notes. we should go in late november when they've got some good snow and they open up canyon at mammoth. and by january they should have snow above the tree line. seems like they get footage pretty fast there.
we should definately plan a month in advance so we can get a bitchin place. last nite i found out someone i know lives at at bed and breakfast up there and hes totally cool. we can get a discount and have bitchin rooms and fireplaces and indoor jacuzzis.. the works.
ill right down names.. and get it together late. i think there should be at least 5.

I'll sleep in a dead horse, it's no big deal there...
(for me at least)
- shellie0
the last place i stayd was nice. but i didnt do much drinking or partying. i was asleep by 9 and up by 6.
but itd be fun to party with a buncha people. i'll be the asshole that goes to sleep early tho. i need a lot of sleep to be able to tackle the tree runs which is my *thing* now. im afraid if im not on top of my shit i'll get stuck in a tree well and drown. i know it probably wouldnt happen but... someone mentioned that to me.. that getting suck like catching an edge and falling into a tree well is more dangerous than an avalanche. i cant get that out of my head.
- fatoe0
I'll go - i go evey year anyway.
lets do dis!
