ichi isn't a terribly good flick but it has it's moments. And some humorously twisted ideas.

I saw it last year at a movie festival and I thought it was just boring as hell. The movie started at 23:30 and lots of people (more than 20 anyway) left in the middle of it, because it was late and the movie wasn't all that good. There were couple of funny moments, but in retrospect I would definately like to spend my time more wisely.

I would have hated to see that in a theatre. And it was very long. But I did enjoy some of the silly violence and wacked out scenes.
Humorously twisted ideas? The guys mouth opening twice the size to catch someones fist. That sort of junk.

ichi the killer is dope. almost typical miike.
a lot of people only know of him through audition, and expect something in a similar vein from him.
