hi BonSeff
ya I have seen some racing on TV but thats about it.
A freand of mine has a Yamaha YZ 125 and that bike was a mad mother fucker of a machine. A real handfull.
- BonSeff0
no doubt, i raced 125's til last year. i raced against the 250's in the old fart class
:D
just be safe. its a helluva fun sport. i was never in better shape than when i was racing. its hard work.

Hey, im thinking about getting into that too! whats a nice bike for a guy thinking about getting into it? Gotta have some nice power too! And easy on the cash...my Mac does come first!
- BonSeff0
have you checked out the us outdoor nationals on TV? that kid bubba stewart is scary fast!
its not right!

i use to race till my lovely wreck. haven't ridden since. i really miss it. never underestimate the power of a YZ.
if you do get into it, don't go cheap on the protective gear.
- BonSeff0
doggy, get a 125. its fast but you can learn on it. ive had friends hop on 250's as their first bike just cause the pros ride them. the always have broken bones and busted bikes within months.
check the classified section in motocross.com for price ranges. you cant go wrong with a yz 125 from 98- present. they are solid machines.. eventhough i race hondas.

hey auricom,
where did you race? the scene in texas is wild, but its super hot.i blasted my acl a while back. but i want to get back into it. its so damn expensive though
- doggy0
Thanks BonSeff...im not sure about getting a used bike though? Cant really trust the person who had it before! Its like getting a used sports car..just never know how rough it really was treated...i guess it saves $$ though!
Whats so expensive about it?

I was looking at the New Yamaha 125 YZ. And over here in the UK there about £3000.
I might get a secondhand bike just to learn on and when I fill conferdent get the real deal.

well if you go new, a bike is about 5-6K. + your gear, if its quality it will run another 700 or so. then there are riding fees. all the tracks i go to cost 10 bucks all day, i used to ride 3 days a week. + gas and oil, food at the track and gas to drive to the track. we would drive hundreds of miles here in texas. + maintenance on the bike.
if you buy a bike from a local weekend racer you will probably get a solid machine. guys that race a lot take very good care of their machines cause they dont want to lose a race due to mechanical failure.

but it kicks ass......so money shouldnt matter that much...plus the chicks tend to like dirty, gritty guys on bikes! just like in the magazines right!

- BonSeff0
na man, chicks hate the track.
- doggy0
but the ones with the big boobs and cut off t's like it right?
- BonSeff0
they sure do man!
:P
we get naked in my box van and take pictures

i use to race in western MD, hometown. there use to be tons of tracks and places to ride. my brother got me into it when i was kid. i got his hand me down YZ 250. i thought i could handle it but my first race with it, i crashed and busted up my right knee really bad. i was laid up in the hospital for a few months. then a few years after that i had a motorcycle wreck, so i'm pretty scared to get back on one. i pretty much stick to mountain biking now, but here in richmond, Va there are no trails like back home so i got out of riding.
i'd like to get a small CR, but it's just not in the budget right now.
