normally one would be editing say with aif or wav files then export the final bounce as an .rm file.
steer cleer from real stuff anyway.

soundforge lets you open real files, edit them in wav format and then save back to real format or any other format you care to mention. excellent app.

thx guys
but i mean if it's not for as a sound but as a video format. say i have a .rm as a video file. and i wanna edit them or convert them into a quicktime movie. how can i do that.

I couldbe wrongabout this but there seems to be two sorts of RM files..some are standalone, the other stream.
For the streaming ones, you need some sort of frame capture ap (google?) That will grab the video and compile it and stream in.
the other format, I assume any decent video editing package should be able to sort you out

as far as I'm aware no editing program will take rm files. i believe there is a pro real app. that should let you export other formats but i'm not sure.
another option would be to use a screen grab app like camtasia although you'll get a slow frame rate unless you have a beast of a machine. real is shit. steer clear of it if at all poss.
