is it normal for every single program that i run on my brand new Dual G4 to unexpectidly quit 6 times a day? im runniong OSX? Im a new mac user so i dont knwo any troubleshooting!

if os x crashes more than once a year, it's most likely a hardware issue.

if you got apple care hit them up, but if know that the first person you talk to probably doesn't know shit, so if they tell you to do somehting stupid like make sure it's plugged in, ask to be transfered.

yeah, not normal at all..
I had my powerbook for like 6 months now, never crashed..(well photoshop does when I tried to use it, after my computer was asleep, for some reason)

sure you're not using OS9 - that would be about normal, especially if you had a deadline, macs know about deadlines.

i sold my g4 a year ago.. had enough of re str*arting 20 times a day and listening to my 'mac friends' telling me everything was under control...bought a pc... windows xp.. didn't crash in 8 months...

bomy, that's what you get for running OS 9. Shoulda bought OS X, it's like at least $800 cheaper than buying a new computer.

Before you do all that.
It might be a good idear to reinstall the OS and reformat the hard-disk, zero all data.
Sometimes you can have a bad install from disk or bad block on hard-drive.
I you do all that and it still does not work, it is hardware. Ring Apple.

my post was really not meant to start whatever mac/pc fight.. honestly..
i just give my experience on a G4 with OSX... i have been using mac since the very beginning..
now go on and take the piss.. i don't care..
