Would you promise to never start 3 thread for the same question? you annoying little guy.

select it, copy it, go to illy, and paste it, voila.

You cant copy-paste because it will fill the transparent with white.
What you have to do is:
-Take out the background in photoshop. Make sure its transparent.
-Save as .PSD
-Open Illustrator, File>Import. Pick you PSD file
-then next time you see a homeless, give him a dollar...
Its called Karma.

cut out the part you want to import so it's on it's own layer...
'place' the PSD file into illustrator...
it'll ask you what to do with the photoshop file...
you want to convert photoshop layers to objects...
ungroup it and bob should be yopur mother's brother...
- jaybee0
you mean i have to make the background transparent first and the save the file as psd?
- Nairn0
Um.. yeah. Cut that fucker out.

Unless you want to do clipping paths.
- jaybee0
i heard something about using clipping paths, could you tell us how?
- unknown0
So glad I don't do print!

Easier that paths.. Make a mask to isolate your subject. Save as PSD, go to Illustrator, File>place, select merge layers>press ok.

you use the pen tool to draw around everything you want to keep, then you name the path, then you go .make clipping path from the paths pallette. Then you export as a tiff or an eps, then you place it in Illy/freehand/quark or whatever and you have no background.

i tried the pen tool but i couldn't get it to make a nice selection round the image, and also i've tried exportin as eps and that gav me problems aswell, couldn't see it in illy.
i'll try it out when i get back home anyway, if anone else has ideas please drop them in, for now thanks everyone for your cooperation.

if you want to do anything in Print design you better learn to use the pen tool toi create clipping paths, and then learn how to isolate selections using alpha channels so that you can cut out hair properly.
Sometimes you have to make an effort, it aint all press one button off you go.

...or you can import you image in illutrator as is, with the background.
-Then trace the contour and make a shape of the subject you want to isolate.
-Put it on top of you image. Go to the transparency palette.
-Click the little arrow on the top left. Choose "make opacity mask" That6's it
Damn, there is just so many ways to do it. Pick one.
