i going to start making a lot of icons for cell phone UIs and windows apps but i have no clue on the best methods. can someone point me in a good direction to start learning what are best techniques and programs to use (or is photoshop is still the best). thanks in advance for the help!

Check out http://iconfactory.com/ they have tutorials and everything...as well as rome rad icons.

look for iconbuilder at iconfactory.com it is a photoshop plugin that do all the shit you love :)

hand over the artwork as 16x16 pixel gifs or pds files

desktop icons are usually 32x32px.

os x - 128x128 = high res
