hey everyone, I'm considering emigrating from Melbourne Australia to London, and I'm wondering about the job climate for Pre- Press/Mac Operator jobs? Is it possible to aquire said position over the internet before I go?

yeah sure, people are just dishing out jobs to anybody without even meeting them.
There are jobs available for macops but you're going to have to be here to prove yourself and attend an interview.

Can't understand why anyone would want to leave such lovely climes for here!
It's pretty tough at the moment still for the kind of work you are looking for - I suggest using firmlist.com to search out companies and jsut email them direct and ask - but I would imagine you'd need to interview with them face to face before they hire you.

Nice work save.
I remember speaking to a lot of homeless people when i was at Victoria station going to work in the morning.
I was amazed how many people would just would not talk to them because they looked like shit. how sad.

To be fair Wayne, this is Britain - hardly anyone talks to anyone they don't already know. Good looking or otherwise...

I have actually been monitoring the state of the UK arse for a while now and it is truly in decline, not only are we in the waning of the thong years but we are now entering a new phase in the spreading buttock era - girls bottoms are beginning to closely resemble a turtle shell, starting higher up the back and sinking mush lower onto the mid thigh - a fact that will surely be picked up on during the highly anticipated re-release of the teenage mutant ninja turtle craze.

You could try and find a recruitment agency that has offices in Aus and London, then perhaps they could find you work over here.

hmmmm I should have been more specific about the jobs over the internet bit... Is it unheard of for people to apply for jobs before leaving then to attend the interview once they arrive...? I've never heard of anyone doing this....?
