Classically detailed sites

The ones with the swirled details, similar to something you'd seewith crests. I am not sure what they are really called. You would probably see them on signs from the turn of the century, or in classical text.
Basically sites that look like they are trying to look 'old', but not necessarily 'worn'.
Any help or suggestiongs where to look at sites that use them or resources for 'real' examples would be great.

You may want to look into 'ephemera'
Also, the work of Chris Ware is also very in the nature of your desired style.
