Has anyone gone or heard anything about the denver art institute, and if so, is their graphic design course worth it.

i had a couple of friends go. really for any school to be good you got to have good instructors. just look at the quality of work coming from their classes and it will let you know. i was not too impressed with what i saw, but i went to the dallas art institute and there was only 2 really good graphic design instructors.
i really want to head to colorado within a year but the market there is so shitty!

fits is right....a lot depends on the professors....i have some friends that went there as well. i guess the impression i got was that they tend to teach the trends of the time and less about conceptual art. but then again, it depends on the professor.
There's some really good art professors at The University of Denver, although they're not know for the art programs per se, but I can give you some names if you like. One of the ladies is super cool and she completely re-vamped their design program.

save you $$$.. go to University of denver.. the professors are much better and cost is much lower.. CIA is expensive and dumb.. I went there for about 5 quarters and dropped out of the photography program.. the photography program was a joke.. a bunch of people who would turn in pictures of squirrels and wanted to be ansel adams.. I went there in about 91.. so maybe it is better.. I just know that i had 15 grand in school loans and nothing to show for it.. you could go to a real arts school for the cost of CIA 2 year program.. .. What about rocky mountain school of art and design..??? seemed pretty nice.. I took a tour a few years back.. spendy though..
actually thinking of going to school for design myself.. but thinking of going to CU denver..

agreed.
CU Denver would be a much better choice for the money.
RMCAD is all in what you make of it i hear.....
thats true anywhere really, but my friends who attended have mentioned how much they had to milk the program to learn what they really wanted to learn

it's nice to hear some positive comments about the university of denver concerning their design department and their professors.
i'll be starting as a freshman there this fall and will more likely than not be studying graphic design, so this thread has built up some more excitement for me.
and i think i may have met the woman that flatulence talked about. she was really cool and helped influence my decision to go to du by describing all that was being done to improve the program - which all sounded great.

cool...best of luck taylor_!
I'm assuming you met angela then. :)
she's cool as hell.
