cuz programming and html are 2 completly different things. :)

exactly. HTML is just a way to present information.... no programing required...

yeah I knew that answer was coming, but I don't think it's a valid excuse.

just like kick ass graphic designers who do tight work, but can't lay a website out.
- takebuchi0
agree, unformatted. there are so many of them out there... sick of it.

or...have you considered the possibility that they are just playing dumb? YOU do it, you lowly web designer, you...I don't code, I program. :)
kinda like if a graphic designer were asked to type something in word. Word? Is that a Microsoft product? Sorry..thats word processing; I'm a designer. ppfff.

I agree that designers should know how a design should be cut up and html'd but god damn when a programmer can't do a table and insert some fucking type that's just plain laziness!
:P

ok that example sounds lame! i agree you have a lazy programmer then. ;)

just fuck up the html and act dumb.
geee mr programmer, im just a designer, i dont know the htmlthe key is calling it
"the html"
- mitsu0
prolly cause you're working with some n00b programmers...
while html isn't really programming, it goes hand-in-hend with client/server-side scripting languages.... and if that's their specialty, then html should be a prerequisite for employment...
just my opinion...

while i agree with what you're saying...please understand that html isn't a scripting language or programming language it is a markup langauge...and there is a sizable difference between the two...just like php isn't the same as pascal or c or java.
some programmers can write applications in c++ but might not know the fundamentals of markup languages.
it's not to say they can't learn it in a few days, but it might not be something they focus on.

I know what you mean by that, yet at same time it's like HTML is a descriptive programming language, not a true programming language. All back-end guys look for is something they can attach back-end code to either as an object or some kind of input field. Hee, hee. 'Unga Bunga': Java good; FrontPage bad! :)

html is too loosey-goosey. programmers don't like that sort of stuff.
