Got this half finished site I really need to finish off... Been looking it so long though I can no longer see the wood for the trees... Any thoughts from the Newstoday headz?

and the colours choosen for the scrollbars make them more confusing

Ouch, yeh I think we want to carry on with it... Not so sure now.
So I guess the reaction isn't too good. I mean yeah its not finished, but we thought it was quite 'quirky' even original...

that could be useful actually, if you take it to the hilt and fully rip err.. take influence from sual bass using strong blacks and reds and bring out the shapes more.. use those funked out b-movie fonts and stuff you could actually bring your site back from the dead... its just so f*cking bland at the moment.. it needs some energy.

I like Saul Bass, but I certainly don't think what I've done constitutes a 'rip'.
Weird thing is I have shown it some 'real designer' friends of mine and they 'seemed' to like it. Perhaps they were just being kind.

Oh an by 'real designer' that wasn't supposed to be a diss towards you lot, kinda of reaction to save's comment that design should be left to designers... Anyway, anyone have any techinical issues, did the video's load, did you find the play stop button? Was quite pleased with that myself.

no offense dude but that has a way to go.
The high frequency noises are annoying, maybe the lower ones would be ok but hard to tell.
Also if you are going to have such random shapes making up the interface then the typography has to be real tight or it just looks ill considered.
I wasn't looking for but didn't find the stop button. I was looking for a sound control button but maybe that was because of the cheesy sax in one of the clips.
Was the load clip symbol ripped? It's quite nice but seems from the rest of the site that you didn't do it. Sorry.

Hahaha. Vespa, your not going to believe this but the load clip symbol took me about five seconds. Whereas I spent days working on the actionscript animation. :)
Good point about the typography, it is really hard to combine the randomness of the shapes with neat looking text. I guess the answer would be to have more random, haphazzard type... Hmmm.

I reckon it can work, half of me is regretting showing half finished work and expecting people to get my intentions, but the other half is feeling quite motivated by some of the comments in this thread... Long live PV-AN!

Yeah...I dunno about those box shapes. They are all wonky and lopsided. It hurts the part of my brain that says it likes 90 degree angles and a solid baseline.
Keep workin though...at least the hard bits are done.
