(Legally) Download a lores comp of a photo (getty) and then Streamline it into a 2 or 3 color vector art file and then call it my own without Judge Wapner coming down on my ass?

That is a tough one when it comes to client work.
I would suggest doing it, then trying to add your own flave to the piece. After you alter it so much, it pretty much becomes your own.
Or just go to photodisk, find something as close as possible. Buy the $25 web version and go bananas on that shit.

i would say you can do it.. i think if you were to do a painting from a picture there would be no problem there... so i don't think there would be any problem doing it digitally... but definitely add your own flav.
