Flash drag MC question

Help! I've got a main background MC that's draggable and a 'popup' within Flash that's also draggable. Both work fine by themselves but clicking on either of them is disabling the ability to drag the other one. Any ideas why it's doing it, and how do I get around it?
For an example go here...
http://www.zen12165.zen.co.uk/fi… and click GMJ > 10 Grosvenor Street > central thumbnail. Then click '10 Grosvenor Street' again and click on any of the 'brochure spreads' buttons to load the popup.Sorry about the heavy loads, it's going to run from a laptop, not online.
Thanks,

First of all let me comment about the design of the piece:
Just hope that EngageStudio doesn't see that, cause he'll sue your ass for design rip..
In regards to your drag problem, if you are using AS onPress method on a MC and a button the MC method will always come first and the button will not work. I assume that you used onPress method on the background and the button object for the draggable menu. If this is the case, that's why. the MC onPress method is primary and kils all button on(Press) events.

Caught me! Sorry Engage, I've tried to keep it from being too close to your design, the client asked for full screen images as it's going to be used as a projection at meetings and I came up with the idea before seeing Universal. I admit the menu follow thing is pretty much the same but I've tried to make sure the rest of it isn't the same.

BTW - both MC drags are onPress events. Is there another way to do one of them so it doesn't kil the second one?

I usually make a switch like status=on or status=off to avoid those kind of situations...
copying is a compliment, E! :-p

It wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't so badly executed. The way it looks to be progressing is that it's diluting our original design and concept.
I hope for your sake and GMJ's it doesn't appear online.

It's not an online project, it's just there so they can take a look at what I'm doing so don't stress on that.
- unknown0
It's online purely by the nature that I can see it, and Universal can see it.

True, I'll shift it somewhere else and keep it underground.

dstlb,
here take a look at this. Draggable clips one is on a higher level than the other and they both work.

Thanks Boz, I'll take a look, sounds like what I'm looking for.

Does your client GMJ know they are paying you to simply rip off someone else? Doesn't put them in a great light.

Engage, I've sent you an email (to the address in your profile) so we can get this sorted out.

Ok everyone, I was wrong, I fucked up and the design was way too similar to Engage's, I didn't feel like I was ripping it at the time but looking at it now the menu design / functionality was too close.
Anyway, steps are being taken to sort it out so you can call off the lawyers and recall the heavies. I'll post the new design sometime soon.
Haven't had a chance to try anything out yet but thanks for the advice on the original issue.
Respect to: http://www.engagestudio.com/ and http://www.universaldesignstudio…
