The letter from AE's attorney

Don't look for a cheap lawyer. Look for the most expensive one you can find, work pro bono. (however you spell that latin crap) If memory serves me correct, copyright law unique, one has to prove innosence. If they can't prove it's their design you win. Congrats you won the lottery.

dude that shirt is a ripoff of old shirts from the seventies...
- mrdobolina0
it would never hold up in court, everyone has seen that cliche on t-shirts before these two companies made them. it isnt an original design done by either company.

be very careful when dealing with lawsuits like that. companies like AE have lawyers on retainer 365 days a year. going all the way to court aint no thang, and honestly I think they would instead of settling. they will drag it out for however long they can to make it almost unbearable to keep paying the lawyer.. and they'll probably also pull out some crazy shit in court as well.
it will be the biggest headache you will every have in your entire life.
but i wish you good luck. if you approach a lawyer you might be able to make a deal with him, if you plan on being very public about it (tv, radio, newspapers) and the lawyer thigns you have a good chance of winning... they might give you a break in return for all the free publicity.

You also may want to refrain from posting documents with sarcastic responses that were sent to you in what could be a pending legal matter.
Seeing as how I work at a law firm I could probably ask all 45 attorneys here in our downtown office to walk past my desk and read of your predicament, and I bet they would all say you're only making yourself look bad by posting that document.

I dont mean to harp on this but c'mon... this isnt an original design.

dont waste your time with the law suit.

VV should just make a new shirt that says
"Lawsuits are for haters"There. that's mine. I came up with that. In fact I'm writing it on a slip of paper, placing it in an envelope, and sending it certified mail to myself. I might have an attorney in IP here register it for me as well. :)

yeah man. it's like that david and goliath story... except your sling shot just backfired and shot you in the nuts.

if this were true, the state of virginia has every right in the world to sue vintage vantage.
- mrdobolina0
"Vintage Vantage sued American Eagle, and all I got was this lousy t-shirt"

Studio A: We would have given you something unique AND made love to you.

mg that is SO weird. i was just thinking of posting a Studio A tagline!
- unknown0
but I beat you mayo. Even if you still do it I can take you to court for a whole slew of things.
:D

It DOES look like they just blatantly copied you, indeed. I like what they did with it better than your tshirt though... sorry!

Chank,
Tell him I'll get some proper legal info from an attorney where I work if he can send me that $1,900 Willie Nelson t-shirt.
