vector swirl mesh thing???

How does one go about making these meshy, parabolic, wavey vector things??? Is there a term for it so I can search and find out how to make these?
Also, do you know if there is an After Effects filter for that as well?

Hey Tyrone, I do those in C4D then export a swf with the FlashEX plugin...
Illustrator sounds easier...do you mind posting/emailing?

OK draw different, curved lines in Illustrator with the pen tool. Double click on the blend tool and set the spacing to specified steps. This is the amount on lines that will fall between the 2 lines that you drew. After you do this close the dialogue box and then take the curser and place it over one of the points. Then click and place the cursor over the one of the points on the other line. Then just use the direct selection tool to move one of the two lines around to adjust. Might need to experiment with the line shapes for a bit to get the right effect.

i knew that thosethat, i knew there had to be an easier (free way). my Creative Director at my old job used to make these a bunch for layered backgrounds...
TYRONE... I was a bonehead. I was using then pencil tool and not the pen tool, so there were hundred of points to contend with... this why i can't take instruction at 2-3am anymore. GOD I'M GETTING OLD.
I have it working now and it's easy as pie. Thanks... thanks for being patient with me, I am a virgin to Illustrator, but now that my hyman is broken and have perverted me... I want more!
