Anyone know of any sites that have a cool splash page which has a 'register for mailing list' facility?

I think it takes incredible gull, guts, nerve, bravery, etc... to make a user sign up on a mailing list on a splash page.
You'd better have the most compelling site or product in the universe.

Don't do it! Trash that splash and let the audience sign up on his fabulous home page where they can see what they're signing up for.
