I'm not familiar with Farsi - is it a different character set?

Isn't it on the 2nd OSX install disc? I think it's one of the options that no one installs, might be wrong though.

oh really? ill have a look...it had better not be cos ive spent hours searchin for this haha

Er, well I hope it's not then. I just remember some option about language kits when I was installing mine. Don't know if it has Farsi included though.

ok yeah they were on the cd, cheers for that :)
so now i can display different chinese, arabic etc characters, does anybody know how i can type using these characters?
dont know if im being really stupid here, hmmm

I did that on os9 a long time ago. Its an install from the CD, and a pain in the ass as I recall. Took me forever to get it to work.
You might be better off digging around the web for a font that has the characters you need that doesn't require the language install. I don't know if that would help... If you're doing the liner notes, then you might want to spend the time to actually get it to work though.
Sounds like an interesting project!

yeah youre probably right.
its a pretty cool project for the BBC world service, its a box set documentary called The History of Afghanistan in the Twentieth Century.
Thing is i'm spending more time looking for the fonts than im spending on the actual design.

Dude - that sounds tight.
I know the feeling of having to do something unorthodox though. Hang in there - I'm sure it will turn out awesome.

I hate to give the generalized answer aswell... but google is a powerful tool.
So just to be nice, I did one minute of research for you and found loads of links, fonts, and info.

Look through that second link a bit, there's some good info hidden in a bunch of outdated links.
Apparently you need to have the language set installed, etc. But you probably still are going to want an interesting font as well.
