i interviewed at the one here, (Richmond, VA) but i have yet to hear anything from them. they are very centralized on their clients so it's extremely tough. damn economy doesn't help much either.

They are always saying: "Oh we have tons of great oppurtunities down the pipe" we"ll let you know when we have something. They call me in and we talk about the prospective clients and projects, only to have the whole thing fizzle. Why keep promising work, when you don't have any. I'm tired of hearing the same BS, and than they charge the clients so damn much, i think they lose potential work for you instead.

yeah.. my wife got a good job through them.. tuned into a permanent postion with the company they hooked her up with.. The company paid thousands basically to hire her.. they take a cut her salary and bonus's... then the company laid her off a year later..
So she calls up the person she worked with at Aquent.. she tells them that she was laid off and wanted to get signed up again.. they brush her off.. she has never heard from them sense she was laid off.. She just made Aquent thousands of dollars because she was hired fulltime... and that is how they treat her one year later.. I was really surprised how much companies pay them to find people.. it is a good chunk of change..

I agree, I have worked through Aquent both for Intranet and Technical Writing development and now they just plain SUCK, it's like I never helped them before or they don't know me! Grrr!

Ok. I've worked with Aquent on and off for years in various cities. In some cities it sucked, in others they were great.
Aquent is really struggling right now, just like all of us. They've been amazing to me. When I moved from Boston they hooked me up with the Nashville office and the Nashville office somehow got me a perma job and went to bat ofor me in salary negotiations. I'm making 10 grand more than I made in Boston...which is pretty amazing...so, they're not all bad.

I would have to differ what that statement from monkeysine, no offense. Aquent = pure crap company and crap HR people with absolutely no technical knowledge nor skills. NY, Pittsburgh, Baltimore and Philly Office all suck bigtime! Don't waste your time to even bother applying with them.
