im SO happy. Finally, health insurance for shellie. No more calming coughs with alcohol and over the counter drugs. I get to see a doctor.. and OMG a dentist. I've had this cavity forever.
Damn all those design firms that refuse to give people benefits or keep people in a *permalancer* position to avoid giving them benefits. Insurance keeps you healthy!
I could skip.. or jump up and down.. i think i'll treat myself to a POS instead of an HMO n go all out.. :)

Congrats, know how you feel. After finishing college and not being on parent's medical ins. any more, I finally got my own this January with my employer.

be prepared to use it too...
the moment i got mine.. i developed degenrative discs in my back. yippeeee.. but insurance payed for my MRI (WHICH ARE NO FUN)... all i had was a $10 co-pay.
congrats shellie

make sure you fall after you get thru jumping up and down. scrape your knee up and get some good meds for it.
preferrably lortabs or some other opiate/opiod. we like those. mwahahahahahaha.ok nevermind.
congrats on that shellie. it is a good feeling. i had to go 6 months without it when i started working where i am now. i was overjoyed when they put me on the plan.

Im a little afriad of choosing my own doctor. I've only had one doctor my entire life and it was my pediatrician. if it wasnt for me getting kicked off my parents insurance i'd still be going to him. ::sigh::.. you can go to your pediatrician until youre 22. :(
now i dont know what to do. and my fam doesnt live in LA.. so i really have to make the decision by myself. its so scary.

ask some of your coworkers where they go. i had the same problem in this city as well.
also ask your neighbors.

Exploit it big time, if it's like a cheap co-pay of $15-$25 go even if you feel perfectly fine.
For you, there's never been a better time to stock up on latex gloves, tongue depressors, gauze, and all the other great products in those tiny rooms just begging to see the outside world.

I've had health insurance for many years, yet have never gone to the doctor even once. Think of all the money I could have saved.

isnt kinda creepy going to a pediatrician at 21?
- unknown0
it's not creepy if they still give you candy if you've been good.
the pediatrician I had as a kid had this drawer you could take a toy from, I remember I was thrilled when I claimed the plastic handcuffs.

its been 2 years so i was 18 last time i went to my pedi. its not weird. he also delivered me as a baby. hes like my grandpa. he was also pretty good about dishing out the drugs when i needed it.. and i mean the good kind. who would give that up?
