Anyone have a workaround for this message:
The iTunes Music Library file cannot be read because it does not appear to be a valid library file.
That is all it says and then doesn't start up after that.

ouch. I had that once but I just restarted and repaired all the permissions (osx) and it was ok.

throw out your itunes permissions.
then re-import your songs.

Damn, that just happened to me like a 3 hours ago too.
To repair permission go and download Cocktail.

Go to the following folder in your hard drive: Users>user_name>Library>Preferen...
Find the files that begin with "com.apple.ITunes".
Move them to your desktop
Then go to Users>user_name>Music
Find the ITunes Music library file and the xml file.
Move those to your desktop as well.
Start Itunes and the files you moved should be created again.
