I would like to go on record...... because we are developing a new site concept.......
I would like to say just for the record........ before 2a comes out with their site.......
we are going to use windowless flash..........
ok there I have said it.......now when we come out with it and everyone says that we bit off of them.......I can point to this and say no we didn't
- HIVE70
what do you mean by "windowless flash"
- liquid0
when we come out with it or 2a does it....... you will know it.....
if 2a doesnt do it I will be shocked as all hell.......
honestly this is the next step for flash and the web........ and if they don't do it ......I will shit myself.......jump for joy...... laugh until I cry......
I don't know if I will be able to control myself........
you probably have already seen "windowless flash" but the fact is..........its how you use the tools not just about having them.........
BUT I JUST WANTED TO GO OUT THERE AND TELL THE PEOPLE..............!!!!!!!
because I hate being accused of being a biter

Mac's dont read exe files.
Is this option for pc only ?
- unknown0
just imagine all the nice Flashy Bouncing Advertisements Coming to a Desktop Near you.
=(

Could do some good screen mates type stuff but with nicer graphics
- vespa0
shame about no mac version but looks good on a pc.
would be better if you could view from a URL as a swf rather than having to download exe files.
- unknown0
bit buggy... testing it now

Hey guys,
windowless flash can be published from FlashMX. The swf could then be imported into a layer in dreamweaverMX. See a working example here:
Otherwise you can buy a very expensive Browser Plugin here:
http://www.flashants.com:)
- jevad0
yeah but all that is, is setting wmode=transparent...which doesn;t work across the board - especially safari - as it's an active x component....
- steno0
ok...so what is the cross platform solution?
- unfittoprint0
there's a better way. Using Flash with Quicktime you can have a 'windowless' site, without the user having to download some fancy plugin or an executable.
A good example was posted on the NTB but I forgot the site's name...

theres heaps of ads made using that layer method. annoying as all hell, and i made one the other day ;( sorry internet users but i have to make my bread and butter
- jpolk0
dude, your site's a total ripoff...
- jevad0
as far as I'm aware there isn;t a complete cross-browser solution...yet.
really nice portfolio btw....
- steno0
