Can you afford it?

How do you (as a freelancer) know when or when you can't afford something? I can't figure it out sometimes. The money is in the bank for D&G swimming trunks, rent is paid, bills are current but I still can't determine if I can afford it. I have CC debt too.

it's nice to spoil yourself sometimes. If you work hard you deserve it.
I plan on buying myself a tiffany bracelet for myself in October. I certainly don't need it, but I've wanted it for a while. It's a nice thing to look forward to. What's the point of making money if you cant enjoy it responsibly.
However, I have zero debt. So, my situation is a little different. It would be nice to get yourself out of that first, so you don't have to think about it anymore.

get yourself a SugarMama, Canadian. You can afford anything then.
:D

I like Mayo's idea best but thank you Shellie. The problem is that it will be quite some time until I find my way out of CC debt but I agree with you and don't want to wait only since you never know where you will be tomorrow. But it is this same thinking that got me in some debt.

Yeah, Mayo's idea is the way to go. Short of that, enjoy the spoils of your labor once and a while.
I have 7 years of arch school education to pay down (let's just say that having a porsche would look cheap if I didn't go! Ugh)
But, I am buying myself a new mountain bike tomorrow because I am to the first pay check in the current project. It helps you to keep motivated and when you look back 2 years from now, whatever you bought you'll still have (even if it's memories) and it won't matter about the cash one way or another.
You gotta have some fun!

getting out of debt is far more rewarding than a pair of gay swimming trunks.
