Looking for a free program for OS X that'll reduce white noise in audio files (wav or aiff). Transferring some 2 VHS tapes to my hard drive and want to clean up the sound a little before I put them on DVDs.

no idea but white noise by don delilio is a damn fine book, read it when you can.

not sure when it comes to video stuffins.
i once had an Anthrax album called The Sound of White Noise. it wasnt very good.
i know that as far as pure audio work, sound forge, sonic foundry and some other apps can reduce hissing and popping. but like i say, when it comes to video, i couldnt tell ya.

yeh- most pro audio progs have audio cleaning filters.
just get your hands on one, take your pick.
