Is it me or does it seems like most personal design sites have shifted from wild net art type of stuff with varying formats say like the old submethod too almost every site being a portfolio site nowdays?

Cos we're all looking for cool jobs.

i am too lazy to upload my portfolio after the server crash. hahah, so i just put up random cryptic words strung together in odd sentences that have depressing meanings. . .
then i upload porn into hidden directories for the incredibly adept web surfer to find. consider it an easter egg. hahahah.

Yeah I was thinking it had something to do with the economy change. I used to think you could make a cool personal site and get famous and have it made.

it's just that now every site has to have a blog and let people comment and on and on.
There's a point where communication needs to stop, and that's where you post what you want and that's it. No need for people to comment and keep it all revolving.

I start doing my personal website by putting all those nonsense bio, photo gallery and some links... after I had upgrade myself, I put my portfolio instead and concerntrate more on my works. Because of this portfolio/personal website, I am able to find job or people call me up to give freelance project.
It's not a bad thing though, in fact, it's something benefit ourselves and positive. I encourage people to put up their work on the web, cause you never know whatca gonna get...
I hope my opinion is not offensive to anyone.
Thanks.

muid, the only offensive thing i see about your post is your phrase "nonsense bio".

About blogs, I dont't have one, but I can understand how it's gratifying to be actualy complimented on work instead of constantly hearing "ah interesting but could you change this and that, and screw this up and such and such". Makes you feel like less of an accessory.

it's because lots of people are unemployed and have nothing but time to put up personal sites and junk content. ;)
