I'm on this other forum.. and there's this new guy who is whining a lot about how he hasn't been able to find any creative work in years.
So I check out his portfolio and the few decent pieces are direct rip offs of other artists work. I mean, line for line tracing and still not up to snuff.
First time around, I just ignored.. but he keeps on whining and now getting people's sympathy (and wasting their time).
Option 1 - embarass him publically on the forum. Obviously he deserves it.
Option 2 - email and tell him to shape up.
Option 3 - smile to yourself, and be happy that you aren't this bottom-feeding bastard.
If he's been sending his portfolio around as much as he says.. he's probably already been widely blacklisted..
What would you do?

he's not hurting me so I dont care.
on the other hand if he really is a cock and he really is gaining from stealing work then fuck him, if its just sitting on his site that nooone looks at anyway then who cares - live and let live, it aint going to do you any harm and you aint gonna gain anything from ruining his day/week.

well, i am a jackass, so i would embarass him publicly. if he werent advertizing himself so widely, then i might email him... but on a public forum... nail his ass.
the good christian thing to do would be to email him and inform him of his ... transgressions.
but i am not one of those.
tear his ass up in front of the people he whines to.

if you are 100% sure, spread the truth...

SHOW US SHOW US! please!

Oh yeah, I;m sure. Even dredged up an old xerox I have of the originals (it's an animation design).
Anyway, my first impulse was to nail him. But I guess it's true that it wouldn't be too constructive..
On the other hand, how cruel is it to let someone think they're actually getting somewhere with this crap? Could be he needs a wakeup call...

Show? The images, maybe. The post? Nah. You guys would destroy him utterly. :)

yeah that would be better, after all its for his own good, now you get to fuck him up and get that 'good deed for the day' feeling!!
and besides, I'm bored - let the humiliation begin!

just do the right thing. to publicly accuse, send him an email and give him a heads up... if he persists, then spread some info to people that may be inconvenienced by it.

His copying work clearly isn't doing him any good if he's been out of work for two years, so what's the point?
If its giving you a moralistic twitch, then email him discreetly. Take the high road, I say. The only point in public humiliation is to make yourself look better at someone else's expense...very Lord of the Flies.

Some people just copy through their careers and get respect for it. Just let him be, you'll probably end-up being the one who looks bad for exposing him. Well, that's how it works for me, in my experience anyway.

Try and find something relevant and useful to do with your own life rather than making an effort to fuck up someone elses.

Adriandd,
Nice illustration portfolio you got goin' on.

yea, plagarism seems to be the skeleton of thought since the advent of Clintonian McLiberalism.......
more time for trivial pursuits
and non-random distraction (aka team sports, reality tv, internet, and war)
- loudubs0
well, you know, Adrian , you're illustration, while obviously you're own, is sort of a bricolage of Old Navy, Tom and Jerry, and Kandinsky......

...with a dash of Pink Panther.
