Please post exanmples of what you think are the best portfolio sites. What characteristics do you think a portfolio site should have to be successful, get jobs, etc?

don't BS around, get to the point: your work.
if the work doesn't speak for itself, the site most likely won't either.

I would like to suggest my good friend and classmates portfolio, very clean simple, and Henrik let the cases speak for them self(just like Saksi and Daggys does)

Yeah it seams that it your work is strong enough the portfolio design itself doesnt have to be that impressive. Like Pidgeon Hole, Elixer and THS's portfolios are just a page full of links to the work, but the work is so good and there is so much of it they dont have to rely on the portfolio design itself to wow its audience.

Wow. The style and illustrations in badrak are awesome.

I always think Im the thread killer. I would love to hear more of your ideas on what makes a great portfolio. Or the perfect examples. I agree designchapel is one of the best for sure.
Not only is the interface great but the work is awesome too.

Gabe, your portfolio gets a lot of acclaim. Does that help you a lot in getting jobs and such?
