Ok i realize this is the wrong kind of board for car questions but maybe someone can help me
i just bought a couple of tires from a dealership, overnight one of them went flat
I can't find any holes, or nails etc. but I'm wondering if anyone knows how to check for a hole in a tire
because if its something with the valve or other, the warranty will cover it
they want me to leave my car at their shop for 7 hours - just to see if the warranty will cover it - and i can't afford time-wise to do that
isn't there an easy way to check - something with water or something

fill something large enough to fit a trie int owith water and put the tire completely under the water.
Wait till the water stills and look for streams of tiny bubbles. IF you don't see any, push on areas around the tire to see if any come up. the pressure will hopefully move and slits enough to allow air to come out.

easier I think, get a spray bottle of water. fill the tire with air and spray the water on it (small sections at a time, just work your way around). If there is a leak, bubbles will appear, no need for the big bucket

Why bother?
Go back to the dealship and demand satisfaction!
I would assume the tires you bought are warranteed, no?

eddy's idea is better and easier, make sure the tire has good amount of pressure in it before you start spraying...ad a bit of dish soap to the water, that way when you hit the spot with the leak it will leave some foamy bubbles...makes a bit easier to locate if hole is very small.

fill the tire up with as much air as possible, get some saranwrap. set the tire up and just loosly run it about a half inch above the tire. don't pull the saranwrap too tight. if the hole is large enough, you'll see the air pushing against the saranwrap. this doesn't always work, depends on the hole.

well damn. i was gonna say squeeze some water and dish soap onto the tire and look for bubbles (after you fill it up with air of course) but it looks like i have been beaten to it.
my dad used to do that or sometimes he would use enobrevs method. he is a big car person. =)

easiest way is a spray bottle filled with water and a dash of dishsoap. when you spray it on the tire spray it in sections starting with the valve, then the rim where it meets the tire. work your way around and do both sides. then if you still haven't found the leak start with the front, then back, then top of the tire.
tools you'll need:
1 spray bottle
dishsoap
6 pack of beeryou may need more beer depending on your consumption rate and frustration meter.
