is it okay to use an image of text saved from photoshop in qaurk. none of the fonts I have in photoshop are in quark. I use 5.0, but I run on osx. so I put all my fonts from osx to the os9 sys folder. but is it ok to just type in photoshop and save it as an image then do a get picture and use it instead of text in quark? thanks. please respond

not unless youre a heathen psycho or you work in kinkos.
Get suitcase and a copy of your font.
If you must do that make sure your PS is saved same size at 300dpi but it aint the best idea.

it prolly would have taken less time to copy the fonts over than it did to post this thread

you'll get crisper edges if you do the text in illustrator of freehand and save as an EPS. text from photoshop tends not to be a sharp. but it is safe.

If you had just read my thread you would have seen that I did copy the fonts over. That would have taken less time on your part, rather than reacting to my thread.

I want Helvetica Neue in quark 5.0. I use it all the time in Adobe 7.0. So I copied all my font files from the osx sys. and pasted them into the os9 sys folder. Some of the fonts came up and some didn't. I'm guessing it's due to the versions of the fonts. OSX can uses both 9 and 10 versions. I can't tell which is which. Does anyone know if there is a os9 version of helvetica neue?

is the machine plugged into the wall?
what version of microsoft is your mac running?
- Dr_Jay0
I've heard of this problem before... you need to draw on your screen with a Sharpie and then import into Quark... works like a charm.
