Im loading in jpgs as external swf's into another movie. What is the trick with getting the best image quality. I have the jpg quality cranked up to 100, but Im still getting jagged images. any help would make you number 1 in my cool book. Thanks.

I think Flash auto compresses jpegs regardless of what setting you use (maybe).
Just use PNGs, it's better, period.

ok, I will give that a shot. thanks.

More than likely, your loaded movie (along with your jpgs) is somehow being scaled from it's original size. The JPG's, no matter how high the quality setting is, will look jagged if they are scale up or down in Flash.
Get it? Got it? Good. Go and tell the neighborhood. And don't worry about the beer, I don't drink.
Cheers.

Actually, you are in complete control of the compression. But there are two place to make changes. One is in your "library" (double click on the image and set compression) the other is in the "publish settings" (under File>Publish settings)-there you will find another setting for compression.
Cheers.

Dude, brah. Setting the jpg quality at 100 is pretty unusual. Normally, you only need 80% quality and 90% for some pretty damned perfect rendering.
1. Make sure you aren't scaling your images.
2. If you are animating these images, you may have to "pinch" them by 1px height and 1px width to avoid the chronic shift that usually occurs when animating bitmaps.
3. In your library, double-click the image file (not the movie clip). Mess around with these settings. I usually have "Allow smoothing" checked and use select not "Lossless PNG" but the other choice-I can't remember now.
4. Make sure your original images are 72dpi.That should do it. Good luck.

Using Jpgs or Pngs will give you the same result, regardless. But I always use Pngs too.
