betacam tapes

so we are doing a DVD project for a client and the production company provided us with betacam tapes.
is there some sort of VHS case i can put these in to convert to digital through my VCR. i've seen these for the miniDV tapes. Do they exist.

no dice...maybe u can go to a local school that teaches video editing and use their eqipment(avid) to capture .....

would the best thing to do is convert them to quicktime files and burn to DVD?

other thing is that this was filmed by a UK production company so they may have it in PAL format.

1. going from betacam to vhs, then into a comp is a terrible, terrible method. you will be going from a high-quality format (beta) to a super-low quality (vhs) and then to dvd. it will look like ass.
2. You have to convert to NTSC if you want it to play in north america...but if you are doing the dvd for a euro audience, keep it in pal and author a pal dvd.
3. if the client wants a high-quality product, you are going to have to capture the betacam via either an AVID system, or an FCP system with an uncompressed card.
i am just curious, but did you really want to down-convert to vhs?
