domain name contact AWOL

  hey, i'm in a boring bind here, hoping newstoday folks can shed a little light on their experience in this.

  i need to transfer a domain name (switch DNS servers), but i cannot log into the account where the domain was purchased because i've lost complete contact with the technical registrant. so now, i've called up the enom.com (where the account is held "hostage") service to request that they switch technical contacts to me. still waiting for a response.

  so is there any effective way to persuade a domain name site to change a clients contact info despite any evidence corroborating that the person issuing a change is credible?
