You'll have to experiment with several different paintbrushes/airbrushes adjusting all the variables in the brush palet. The desired effect may necessitate multipul layers, filters and a lot of different brushes and opacities. There's no instant fix here. Drips and shit will have to be drawn in or scanned in or whatever you feel comfortable doing. have fun.

no... please, don't do it - stick to the old school lens flare and messotint, and don't try and write graf in Photoshop.

damn YO! haha im not writting graffiti. i just need a bunch of drips and spalleters ans shit. what is a mesotint?
- davetufts0
mesotint is an ugly ass photoshop filter
- steadyvibe0
yeah im not a fan of the fileters.. some subtle ones like add noise and shit are good. but in moderation!

Corel Painter should have some nice spattery airbrushes

i am on a pc.. well for another day until i get my mac but anyways... i dont have that program!

You have looked thru the brush libraries within Photoshop havent you? PS7 has all sorts of dry-media and special effect brushes preconfigured if you dig into the menus on the brushes pallette...
and then you can define your own patterns too, to use as a brush...

yeha im gonna try that tonight when i get home. Thanks

get yourself a nice piece of acetate.
flat black rusto and or krylon.
spray and make drips fades whatever you like.
scan.
keep bitmap or streamline whatever you choose.
there isnt a way to fake it without it looking fake.
- steadyvibe0
if i do it that way it will be ard because i will ahve to get the background out without ti lookuing shitty and aliased
- lemon7140
when do you need this by?if you have a day or so i can go through backed up discs and mail you a few psd s and eps versions...

Why do the filters get such a bad rap? it's not the filters fault. It's the artist that uses and abuses it the way they do. Filters don't kill designs, designer's do.
- steadyvibe0
sure that would be rad! ieven if i can se them as examples. whenever you get time!

i wasnt hating on filters just as a person who has been writing graffiti for 13 years and using pshop or illy for 6 i ve never been satisfied with the quality i ve gotten.and im talking hours and hours of trying to make it look the way i want.
- dopepope0
I respect that!
I was jsut talking generally. No doubt there's a real artistic beauty and skill to do it all the hard and hands on way...but filters in general are here just like anything you use to get the job done. It's all how you swing it. Nah meeeen?
- steadyvibe0
yeah good call
- lemon7140
Im totally with you and can honestly say im toy with filters in the grander sense of there uses.

don't do it MAN!!
plaaaaaaaaaaaaayed out.
however, if you have a circle with some drippy things coming off it, that's totally cool.
