Why is this competition for 2A Rummy?
Yah, it's centered on the page, but that's where the obvious comparisons stop.

"Looks like 2A has some competition."
Correct me if I'm wrong, but competion does not equal to rip.
It has some good motion, just like 2A, hence the competion.

ok i gotta ask. what software package are they using for those button melt animations and the diamond blur image transfer effects. are they using AE? i know it ain't AS.

I do not agree that they ripped 2A. Yes, we can see a lot of web sites that look exactly the same as 2A site (those are true rips), however 2A did not invent the techno style/look. This style started with all the special effects and motion interfaces in the film industry thus making the style very trendy. The skill that 2A sells is purely mastery of motion, but again we can see in this site that, although techy looking style is pretty much similar, the motion effects are somewhat different than 2A ones. I think they have nice motions skills and they are applying the same formula as 2A.
In the end it really doesn't matter since this style is dying, it will be definitely gone soon. The problem with Flash Level is that they started too late. 2A did it in a timely manner and got some nice money out of it. What will they do when this style ends, only heaven knows :)
Cheers.

Their shit is great and the effects are nice but their is def something to be said for a dynamic site or at least dynamic effects. but i may have to start checking out AE just for the hell of it. looks nice though.

my guess is that it's no AE.
just some sort of gradient used in a mask...
my guess is that on each image, there is 1 main clean image, 1 slightly blurred and a little stretched, and then the mask transition.there's something "like" it at my sis' site... http://alicepeacock.com/
footage -> photostills section...
the way that they transitionjust a guess

it's jsut flash yo

it's neither competition for 2A nor that great. Half of it is done in some 3D software.

I don't think his point was that it is a bite off of 2advanced. but that the motion is well done and therefore on par with 2A motion effects... but I could be totally wrong...
I like the menu though. I will steal it.

Yes that could easily be done in PS. No need for After Effects. It's just a good effect, well executed, not jerky (Animation) But it's still only a few bitmap images with some flash trickery. Very well designed site. A little too much for me, but Im sure the client is very happy, and they probably got what they payed for.

geeks must love it.
