... from inspiration to ripping. Seems like in some cases its being accepted more and more.
Everyone's running around screaming RIP. Some of it is really crying wolf and I couldn't put my finger on what it resembles for the life of me. But some, im my opinion, are so obvious it makes my eyes bleed.
I don't think it's ever acceptable to be inspired enough that you can tell where the origional came from. What do you think?

some say everything ok; some day not

This topic reminded me of an interview with Ian Anderson that I read a few months ago.
"What's really annoying is that companies copy your style - our style- and make money out of it because they're based in London - and there are two or three that do just this. That's annoying! But if say, we have a student in and they're influenced by what they see and invented their own processes, done their own 'take' on it, if you like, then that's fine. I don't mind people doing that as long as they do it well and they don't mind us swiping back off them - interaction is good and interesting. The main thing is that we make people think. We've got a mission in life and that's to make people challenge things. That's how things should be in design, and when people copy and don't understand and use the processes properly it simply doesn't work."
