What does it say about are industry when a trade mag like Create Online shuts there doors and go the fuck home.?
I mean its only been out for 2-3 years and thats just not very long for a magazine is it.
Any one have any info too what really happened and why it went down.

magazines come and go all the time, much un-noticed. Its not really a mark of the industry necessarily.

the magazine was great in the begining, but it became more and more repeditive after a while, and it was 60% ads, i see enough ads in my day to day life without having to pay for them.

that mag was great for the first couple years - really indie and ground breaking - then they jsut seemed to disappear up their own asses....the last 6/8 issues were fucking abysmal!

I liked it at first, but then I got really tired of interview after interview of so called 'experienced' people. Now, granted, they are/were probably the most experienced in this field, but no one really has enough experience in this industry to predict the future.
I lost interest right about the time the stock market plunged and the markets were flooded with 'designers'.
I can get enough 'reliable' predictions from Wall Street and keep reading CArts.

I was bummed to see it go also. I think the last few issues changed so much out of desperation. It was cool and "indie"-esque early on, but I think the company expected to make more bread in the end. Its too bad - it was the best.
I haven't found any magazines since that were as good as that was in the early days. CA is good, but I'm talking about on-line stuff - not a print magazine that has some online features.
Too many magazines are bogged down with software "tricks" and reviews. I don't need to drop money on that...
