Help , i need to send this biz card to the printer like right now.
But i need the pantone colors ?
where / how do i get these .never did this ....
how does it work ? i can convert my file from RGB to CMYK , but there is not an option for Pantone...I use only 2 color , 2A7CB6 (Blue) and 3A3A3A (dark grey)

What program did you make these in?
If you used illustrator, just go to the "window" menu and go down to the "swatche libraries" Select the correct pantone swatch and match as best as you can to the colors you already have.
I would use the Pantone Solid Uncoated set. Unless you are going to have a varnish on your card.
Hope that helps. You can send it to me if you can't do it and I will help you out chief.
Word...

coated is for coated paper. uncoated is for uncoated paper.
this doesn't have anything to do with using an aqueous or varnish.
- Louno0
what is coated paper and what is uncoated paper ?
im french , like what does coated mean ?and also , if i take coated pantone color and use it for a uncoated paper print , will the color be about the same ? ... ack mayday :P

You can use PhotoShop to get a rough idea of the PMS equivalent of RGB colors... in the color picker click on "custom"... better to look at the swatches, though.
- Dr_Jay0
these are the photoshop results:
blue: PMS 646 (coated)
grey: PMS Black 7 (coated)who knows how accurate that is...

Dude. You got some learning to do before you hand that card in.
Find out from the printer whether uncoated or caoted stock was specified.
If you are near the printer, maybe you should check out his pantone book before you specify an equivalent you found on your monitor (which will not produce good results).

2a7cb6 = pantone 640 uncoated
3a3a3a = pantone black 6 uncoatedthats my guess
coated paper is shiny and uncoated paper is matte
get a pantone formula guide swatch book if you plan on doing a lot of print. its the lime green one
they are the best

i'm wit Gorbie.
screen colors are ass.

i recently got the 3 book set, $244, but well worth the price.
those books are so damn yummy.
- Gorbie0
See what I mean?
Bonseff says 640c & Dr.Jay says 646c.
Those two blues are radically different in pantone colors.

done and done... should be in your mail...
- Gorbie0
I'm curious to what colors you picked Freshmode?
- Louno0
i get Pantone 425 C for the grey and Pantone 2925 C for the blue .... wtf ... they look the same color as the cmyk that i had
- freshmode0
for the gray - 425 U
For the blue - 2925 u.I had the illustrator file. Maybe looks different on mine?
Dunno, I sent it back with original colors so if they are way different, he could change them
is that pretty close? Looked close to me
