there are other options such as that Pirate-Radio software that's out.

hmm... besides the pc part, if you can set it up to stream, it'll stream just as an http m3u file... plays in any mp3 player (winamp, itunes, browser plug in's, WM, etc..)
easy as hell to set up to... if it's just a one time live event, try to borrow someones ibook or something...

i am using a pc and the audience that i am aiming for is not design related at all. many perhaps dont even know what quicktime is so i am sure not many have quick time installed. but i will surely look into it.
any other ideas?

i've used quicktime streaming server for a while (not sure if you're using a mac or windows)
the streaming server that i run is actually the darwin streaming server running on red hat 7.3 sitting in a datacenter.... you can setup quicktime broadcaster on a mac to broadcast to the server and then people can get their streams from there.. check it out.. it's free.

What's the best way to go about it?
Shoutcast (or something similar that that broadcasts from a regular pc) is not an option because I want something that is good enough for hundreds of visitors at the same time.
I don't know much about it so any help will be appreciated.
