just installed the "Panther" Developer preview...pretty sweet....
nice improvements to the mail app.
the new Finder window organization is cool, except for the "brushed metal"
the default system/menu font is now the same (Myriad, I believe) as used in all the new Apple branding...interesting...
lots of minor interface improvements and no more lame "Pinstripes"
anyone else play around with it?
comments?

How stable is the pre-release for you? Wondering if I should install it on my main work machine.. But I am scared..

Heard rumors that you need to clean install the GM when it comes out.

so are current OSX 10.2.* users going to get upgraded when this is released to the general public? Or is this going to be something we have to pay for to upgrade to? Forgive me, i just recently started using macs about a year ago.

130 bucks.. Apple upgrade policy sucks.

DO NOT install on a production machine...trust me....
best to set off a separate partition and do a clean install there.
pretty smooth for a beta, but some conflicts (Photoshop, stuffit, to name a few)
someone has to do something about the brushed metal, though, sheesh......
