Hey NT peeps, My boss has asked me to record audio from a micro cassette recorder to my pc, any idea how I would do that? Line in to the mic jack on my sound card? or am I unable to do this without an expensive card?

I've done this but it's a bit of a pain. First I got a mini disc player and hooked the tape recorder to that. The I copied the tape to mini disc. Then i lined in the mini disc player and recoreded it through Cool Edit.
Was the only way I could think of at the time.

don't see why you can't just run the headphone jack on the minicasette recorder (most have one, usually 1/8 jack) and run it right into the mic input on your soundcard. it'll be a little noisey, but that's to be expected regardless.

You could do it with a digital camcorder too I guess.
