Our design department Macs won't work on the Windows network or with the Exchange server. There are also problems with the printer connectivity.
If anyone can help us please email me at
werd.

I used to work for a fairly large studio that had both macs and pcs living in harmony together...the program they used to do it is called maclan...i'm pretty sure it needs to be installed on the pc's.
another thing is called dave, i know it works for sharing but not sure about printing.

If you are using OS X and your PC is configured you dont need any software but it helps if you have multiple machines.

This is a large network 0ver 100 PC's connected and about 10 Macs. We need someone who knows this shit inside and out. I have used PC Mac Lan before but on this level I don't think it's an option.
Doesn't OS X claim to be Windows Network ready?
The problem is our firewall requires authentication to "get out" OS X doesn't have a Username and Password field in it's Network settings. IE does but it still loads Newstoday with half the frames 407 errors. 407 are Proxy authentication errors!?!?!?
Anyway very frustrating.

Actually OSX.2 (Jaguar) can easily see PC's on a network. I have found that the regular OSX cannot. On my network, I had to use PCMacLan for the PC to see the Macs but with OSX.2 the Macs were always able to see the PC's.

There is the Proxies tab in 'Network' for entering web proxies...
...and maybe where any password requirements will pop-up a user/password form?

we have 10 macs and 30 PC's. The PC tech guy configures the PCs and the Macs just see them 1-2-3. You need to hire a PC tech dude... its not a mac issue.

Y need a PC tech that knows Macs. We have techs they just don't know Macs. They try to tell me that all the problems are Mac software based.
bah!

where are you located and what exactly is wrong? Send me an email with the EXACT discription off the problem and screenshots (SHIFT+APPLE+3) and maybe I or our techman can help.
