How am I supposed to read the white text on grey? I may just be stupid here, but I couldn't figure this out. Is it supposed to look like that, or is it a way to make the bg on that text pink too?

The text scrolls up and down dependiong on the different sections you're on... so the bit you can see on grey is actually for the 'sample content' section. Or didn't you get that?

I got that now. It was just beneath that other section, so I thought the text continued, and that I had to explore whatever to read it.
