Sorry Mum!

i don't think the hulk is supposed to be "real". just like in spider man, they wanted to add more of a comic book feel to it by giving him un-human movements and an quasi-realistic look. if you don't like the genre then don't fork out 6-8$ to go see it.

i've got less to say against the Hulk as it is based on a rather hokey concept...a comic book, so alls well that ends well, but i will say this. An audience should raise their expectations, not go and reinforce the production of mediocre or dismal films (ie. Matrix) and then say, "well, i didn't expect much". If you want to ensure a more satisfying viewing experience, go see Finding Nemo again over just "checking" out The Hulk.

i think i came across wrong, im all for these movies, but the other day i wanted to see a good flick with real people and it was all matrix, the core and hulk etc
But i went to see 25th hour not knowing what to expect but was pleasently surprised, one of Spike Lees finest.
Just think the markets geting flooded with cgi movies lately.

yeah, definitely alot of cg stuff at theatres over the last three years... i do wanna see that league of extraordinary gentlemen though, even though it looks cg'd up a bit.

it looks rockin' to me
- subSTANCE0
crazy pumped up Shrek lookin' motherfucker

hey- just cos its cgi and got the hype, aint mean it will be a bad movie...
seems no matter how well done these 'blockbusters' are made, there will always be the elite movie goers who frown on upon anything with a fast food chain tie in.
we're finally getting talented people to churn out some of these films- as opposed to the god awful emmerich and bruckheimer phase of the 90's.
- sexypixel0
did you even read my post quamb, i said that i had nothing against them, just that the markets flooded at the moment.
I wanted to see a good character analyasis movie as i was dying of a hangover and didnt want to see earth getting blown up again.

Just watched it today... the Hulk character wiped its ass with Gollum. The amount of physics and dynamics that went into the Hulk were far superior than a clumsy walking troll that did nothing much than whine all day.
My hat's off to ILM. True CGI at it's finest and pushed the bar well over.
The first half of the movie was a bit slow... second half made up for it and then some.

want a quality movie? rent NARC. i finally saw it on DVD tonight and it was strong. it was shot on a 3 million dollar budget. Jason Patric and Ray Liotta put in incredible performances. so don't waste your 10 bucks on medicore plot and CG
- PanchoPimpXL0
actually that was a 7.5 million dollar budget:

But i'll stick to CGI for now... much more appreciative when you actually know what it takes to create this stuff.

Australians do it better!
Eric Bana aka CHOPPER
- quamb0
hey wasn't directing that at you sexypixel- just in general.
at more to the posts like modulates: "dont waste your 10 bucks on mediocre plot and CG"
... so im not going to waste my money on a movie of the friggen Hulk (an extremely popular and famouse pop icon /comic) directed by Ang Lee (who i love), effects by ILM, nice cast, big budget... etc etc?
this is why i LOVE going to the movies!!
- pr20
Pop culture is best because it has the higest expectaions. (I really mean it)
However lately i start noticing an interesting shift. Whenever i go to my ghetto Blockbuster i see those ghetto kids walking down the ailes and complainting that it's all the same! (!!!) Did i hear it right? And once i heard (with a thikest ghetto accent possible) "this movie is good, nice story and artistic (!) shots"
Yep, popular culture is getting fed up. Unfortunately as there is nothing else to see in the movies they WILL go and see Hulk and it will make its money back. All thnaks to congolretaion and big companies that own the movie theaters.
And then you will have dumbass (the chair of FCC commision) saying that giving corporations even more power is good for the consumers)...
...Then again its' so hard to see a good independent movie.
- sexypixel0
sorry quamb, maybe i should give up the green, getting paranoid!
:)
enjoy the rugby tonight

gee, pr2, can't you take the time to keep yourself from looking like a racist asshole?
- dopepope0
sometimes in the face he looks stupid. They could have made him more stylized. He lacked a certain element that made him unique. He looked generic.

no spoilers ahead, but harsh opinions, so read with caution:
i liked it one minute, then i didn't. even though i never read the comic, i felt like i'd seen this same movie a thousand times before. and the end... it seemed like they didn't know how to end the movie... so they just dragged it on, and on.... and on.
and when it was over, i was glad!
some of the effects were neat, especially the face off with the military. a few good bits of acting here and there, but i had a hard time caring for the characters. X2 still reigns supreme this year, imho.

panchopimp:
a quote from Ray Liotta re narc:On the process of Narc being picked up by Paramount- ?We filmed in 28 days on a 2.5 million budget. We started getting buzz during Sundance, and a lot of big actors, people like Warren Beatty and Dustin Hoffman responded favorably to the film. Tom Cruise saw it and really responded to it.?
maybe paramount bought it for 7.5
