I've been getting email from people I don't know...
the last one, for example, has the subject: ZzDate2.setSeconds(0)then the body has:
Content-Type: application/octet-stream;
name=icn_fish[1].jpg
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64
Content-ID:then it's a long string of characters.. what does this mean? some kind of virus? I looked up "application/octet-stream" but I haven't really figured out what it means... (I'm on a mac) anyone know?

I've been getting those too. I think they are virus emails... but who knows. Macs don't really have those problems.

its virus!
they infect outlook, grab the address book and start sending quasi-human mails of something.jpg.exe, or something.gif.exe
its another generation of viruses, when ppl used not to open .exe an just accept files from friends.
pretty smart, indeed. coz the document is supposedly from a friend (someone that for some reason has ur mail on his address book), and some windows hide the extension, so u cannot see if its .exe or not.
and then it goes. a neat way of e-life!
don't worry, those are outlook virus, u have to have a pc AND outlook AND click on the document to get infected.

Norton will eliminate the majority of viruses (I've never had an email come through with an attachment that was a virus) and quarantine them, before you ever get it.
Really nice. Saved my ass more than once!

uh oh, I just got another one. This one was a "returned" email. But I didn't send the original. The transcript shows it was sent by some other address to or something... Also, just before that mail froze up...
Are you sure I'm safe since I'm on a mac? These things don't have attachments... I check my mail from a pc at work sometimes, but it's through the website...
