graphic designers that is.
do you ever notice how every other type of "artist" gets to put their name on things they create, regardless of who it's for or how much their getting paid.
eg. photographer get have their name on every photo no matter where it's use.
eg. illustrators
eg. clothing designers
If we put our signature on a brochure design our clients would be like "what the hell is that".
n'mean?

so put your name on your work.

Put your logo on it also.
If they buy a car do they tell the dealer to take all of the manufacturers marks off.
NO!

Tell your client it's the mark of a quality product.
That is if it's a quality product.
Also what helps is if you have it on there from the very beginning in the concept stage.

As for programmers you can sign your work in the source code.
I look at source code all the time and that's actually how I've hired some programmers.

Photographers only get their name on their work when it's for editorial use usually. Photographers usually don't get paid for editorial work and their "credit" is how they are compensated.
Also, it seems, that the only way anyone gets credit is by asking for it, so I'd try starting with that.

respect is what many demand and few give.
