There just been a good thunder and lighting storm about 5min ago where I live.
Thought I would try and get some lighting pics but with no luck, so tried the movie option on the digital camera.
Fuck me with a light bulb it worked.!
Go have a look at the movie. Hath way thou you will see a massive lighting strike just outside my house, which was a little bit to close for comfort.
If you freeze frame on the first lighting strike you will see just how big it was.?

That felt like the start of a superman movie or something.

This may be a stoopid question, but... How did you flip the movie vertical?
- 4cY0
err... my guess... by holding the camera vertical? i think it was done with a digital photocamera, which has options like this..
just a guess tho.

Ahh. I see. You gotta change something on the camera.
thanks cY

that wasn't close. the gap between lightning strike and the thunder rumble is about seven secons. sound travels at 1 km per 3 seconds. so, the actual strik was somewhere 2,5 km away.
i live near a big raliway junction (about 300m away) and during the real bad thunderstorms the lightning constantly strikes into the railway lines (is this the right word?). that's really scary ;)
